The multi-million dollar "events industry" encompasses a wide variety of events (including local community events, major scientific conferences, business meetings, music festivals, exhibitions or sport events), all of which have economic, environmental and social impacts.
Course Objectives:
#1. To raise awareness of the importance of the positive and negative impacts of an event.
#2. To inform people about the contribution they can offer to sustainable development.
#3. To disseminate a set of actions that can be incorporated to promote, organize and/or sponsor an event with sustainability in mind.
#4. Encourage event organizers and the various stakeholders involved in the process to continually improve their practices to achieve higher levels of performance.
